Privacy Policy

Your privacy matters to us. This policy explains what data Aimring collects, why we collect it, and how it is stored and protected. We keep it simple because we believe you deserve to understand exactly what happens with your information.

1. Our Commitment

Aimring is a training tool, not an advertising platform. We do not sell your data, or share your information with third parties for marketing purposes. The only reason we collect any data is to make the app work for you.

2. What We Collect

Account Information

  • Email address (used to identify your account)
  • Display name and optional profile photo
  • Authentication method (email/password, Google OAuth, or Sign in with Apple)

Training Data

  • Session logs — date, distance, session type, scores, arrow counts
  • Equipment — bow details and arrow sets you add manually
  • Arrow grouping maps from Score and Track sessions

Social Data

  • Friend connections (mutual opt-in via QR code)
  • Sessions you choose to share with friends
  • Monthly leaderboard arrows count (visible to your squad)

Camera & Microphone

  • Camera — to scan a friend's QR code and to upload an optional profile photo
  • Microphone — to record voice memos you choose to attach to a session note

Both are only accessed in the moment you use that specific feature — never in the background.

We do NOT collect

  • Your location or GPS data
  • Device contacts
  • Browsing history or cross-app tracking data
  • Full payment card details (payments are processed by Apple / Google — we never see your card)

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To create and authenticate your account
  • To store and display your sessions and training history
  • To show you and your friends leaderboard data
  • To generate your session summary and grouping analysis
  • To improve app performance and fix bugs (anonymised aggregate usage only)

4. Data Storage

All data is stored securely on infrastructure with industry-standard access controls in place. This means your data is only accessible to your own authenticated account and to friends you have explicitly connected with. Data in transit is encrypted via HTTPS.

5. Third-Party Services

Aimring relies on a small number of trusted infrastructure and service providers to operate the app — for example, to store data securely, to offer optional sign-in with Google or Apple, and to process subscriptions where applicable. Each of these providers is bound by its own privacy policy and only processes the minimum data needed to provide its service. No advertising SDKs, analytics trackers, or data brokers are used, and your data is never sold.

6. Sharing Your Sessions

Sessions are private by default. You can choose to share individual sessions with friends from the session summary screen. You control this toggle and can turn it off at any time. Shared sessions are only visible to users in your friends list — not publicly.

7. Data Retention

Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all associated data — sessions, equipment, profile, and friend connections — is permanently deleted from our servers within 30 days.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your data
  • Export your data in a portable format
  • Object to certain processing

To exercise any of these rights, contact us via the contact page.

9. Security

We take security seriously. All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Passwords are hashed and never stored in plaintext. Row-level access controls ensure users can only access their own records. We review our security practices regularly.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the date at the top of this page and, for significant changes, notify users via the app. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

11. Contact
